Project Overview

Our clients, Bradley Wathen and Brendan Dougherty, PhD, have requested that we design and fabricate a device capable of making accurate cuts between the dorsal and ventral sides of fresh rat spinal cord tissue. This device should be precise, consistent, and easy for all lab members to use. The materials used to manufacture the device must be endothermic and the device must be reusable and easy to clean. Use of the device to cut the spinal tissue should take no longer than ten minutes. While not required, the ability to bisect the ventral half of the tissue after the initial cut would be ideal.
