Project Overview

Compartment syndrome is a potentially life threatening condition that can cause permanent tissue damage in patients if not diagnosed and treated both accurately and efficiently. However, two recent studies have revealed technical flaws in the diagnosis of compartment syndrome by resident physicians. With the newly established guidelines requiring proficiency in skills by clinicians, including measuring and diagnosing compartment syndrome, it is imperative that a high fidelity, reusable, compartment syndrome simulator is developed. This simulator would provide clinicians the necessary equipment for training in order to reduce technical flaws in the diagnosis of compartment syndrome.
