Project Overview

Dr. Shlomi Laufer from the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospital has requested the fabrication of an undetectable sensor system to be incorporated in a clinical breast exam model. This system will be developed using the novel approach of creating fabric force sensitive resistors with conductive and resistive materials. During a clinical breast exam simulation, the system will measure the pressure and location of an examiner’s touch. The data collected will be used to aid in the characterization of clinical breast exams.
