Project Overview

Applied Kinesiology (AK), also known as muscle strength testing, is used by some alternative and complementary healthcare providers as an energetic means of diagnosing and selecting treatments for health-related concerns. Differences in muscular performance are cross-referenced with supplements for a more diverse understanding of the patient’s needs. In order to accurately quantitatively assess muscle strength within this practice in a non-biased manner, a constant load should applied in order to stimulate the anterior deltoid. Also the quantitative assessment should cater to the patient’s size and strength. Our project will be to design a user-friendly device to be used by physicians for muscle strength testing for complimentary assessment of a patient’s needs using AK.
