Project Overview

The UW- Athletics Department regularly tests athletes to analyze body movement, muscle strength, and bone density using Dual-energy x-ray absorbitometry (DXA). A previous team developed a software package to analyze cortical thickness in different regions of interest. Our team will focus on obtaining both cortical thickness and density from the DXA scans. The client would like to utilize these measurements to analyze tibia bone density in runners to evaluate risk of stress fractures.
