Project Overview

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is one of the most common nerve disorders, affecting approximately five percent of Americans ages 45-64. Diagnosing CTS requires an extremely painful Electromyogram (EMG). Patients sometimes refuse an EMG, often due to anxiety over the amount of pain they may experience, and choose to live with the symptoms of CTS rather than endure the test. Due to CTS’s prevalence, a pain reducing alternative or adaptation to the EMG is desirable.
