Project Overview

Produce a functional delivery system prototype suitable for spraying a liquid medical device in laparoscopic or open system applications. Using a surrogate liquid (water or solvent-suspended polymer solution) the team will be challenged to research, design, and develop a novel delivery system that meets the following criteria:

•Deliver the solution through the provided catheter (or other catheter/tube of similar length and French-size) suitable for laparoscopic applications, as well as, other delivery tips for open surgical cases.

•Deliver the solution in a controlled mechanism such that the end user can tune the amount of material provided or target a specific area.

•Design a device comprised of single-use components, in whole or in part and provide a cost analysis of the end product and consumables.

•Provide recommendations and rationale for biocompatibility of wetted materials in the delivery system.

•Provide recommendations and rationale for relevant user risks in final design.
