Project Overview

Currently, the sphygmomanometer, or blood pressure cuff, is used for measuring blood pressure. While it has long been the gold standard, the blood pressure cuff has a major drawback-the size is not compatible with every patient. There are only 4 sizes for adults (small adult, adult, large adult, thigh) However, these are not ideal for every patient. Our client Dr. Steven Yale, from the Marshfield Clinical Research Foundation, wants a us to develop a new blood pressure cuff that is adjustable in both length and width. This will allow one cuff to be used for a wider range of patients and make sure that the appropriate size cuff is able to be used for all patients.
