Project Overview

We are tasked with developing an interventional lumbar spine procedure model. This model will be used in training the residents and fellows learning procedural techniques as a means of practice before actually performing injections on patients. The simulator will need to appropriately reflect the lumbar spine anatomy: skin, subcutaneous tissue, bones, ligaments, epidural space, dura, etc. It must accommodate various pathologies including scoliosis, arthritis, etc. Additionally, the design will be required to account for repeated use.
