Project Overview

Currently, intraventricular drainage systems require consistent nursing assistance and for patients to remain in the same position unless a nurse is there to adjust it. The team aims to develop a device which would automatically level the drainage and would provide almost immediate adjustment while minimizing the need for constant nursing attention. Currently, nurses have to manually adjust the height of the collection container which is time-consuming and imprecise. With this device, nurses will have more time and, more importantly, fluid will be drained more accurately. Our device will help to alleviate the correct amount of pressure and will result in a more successful procedure.
