Patient interface for microwave breast imaging system
Project Overview
Once the breast is in position in the microwave antenna array, the void between the breast and the walls of the array box needs to be filled with a biocompatible liquid (vegetable oil). Since the box walls are opaque and the volume of the void will vary from subject to subject, a sensor will need to be in place to determine how much liquid is required and to control the filling of the box. After the scan is completed, the liquid needs to be drained from the array before the subject moves, to avoid spillage.
