Login for More InformationCPAP Humidifier Auto-Refill system that aims to eliminate the problem of CPAP humidifiers failure to retain enough water to supply the patient throughout the night.
Project Overview
A continuous positive air pressure (CPAP) machine can be prescribed to patients with breathing-related problems during sleep (such as sleep apnea). The CPAP machine creates pressure to keep patients’ airways open. However, the constant flow of air through the nasal cavity can have a drying effect in some people, especially those living in arid areas, hence the need for CPAP humidifiers. The team has been tasked to create a 1-gallon water holding tank that connects to the humidifier and can also be attached to the CPAP machine itself. A sensor also needs to be installed so the humidifier can be automatically refilled when needed.
