Login for More InformationDevelop a wound dressing that utilizes color indicators to signal when the wound dressing needs to be changed.
Project Overview
The goal for our project is to develop a wound dressing that is capable of indicating abnormalities in chronic wounds without needing to remove the dressing to avoid unnecessary trauma to the wound or exposure to possible contaminants. The two indicators requested are a pH indicator as well as a moisture indicator so that the user is able to easily determine whether or not the wound is infected. Generally, chronic wounds need consistent monitoring by a medical professional to determine the state of the wound but with clearly identifiable indicators, users in rural outpatient settings who may not have easy access to medical professionals can check their wounds themselves.
