Project Overview
This project aims to design and prototype an application system that delivers pressurized lidocaine to two adjacent web spaces of the foot simultaneously. This could enable efficient and less painful toe blocks for procedures that require digital anesthesia. Traditional toe blocks require two separate injections into the medial and lateral web spaces of the affected toe, which can be painful and distressing, especially for children. This project proposes a dual-tip applicator that can deliver lidocaine simultaneously to both web spaces without the use of needles. This innovation could streamline toe block procedures, reduce patient anxiety, and improve procedural efficiency in emergency and outpatient settings.
