Leg Ergometer for Human Excercise Blood Flow Studies
Project Overview
The goal is to design a leg ergometer to be used by William Schrage in his lab. He needs a device that will allow a subject to do constant work by kicking one leg while he images the femoral artery in that same leg. Some of his major requirements include passive return of the foot to the normal position after the kick, a constant kick rate, measurable work output, and reliability. This device will be used in his research lab as part of his studies. While the subject is kicking, he will be imaging the femoral artery to determine blood flow.
