Login for More InformationThis project strives to create an vaginal ring that can be utilized to promote vaginal health in underprivileged communities.
Project Overview
The goal of this project is to find a method to transport a vaginal probiotic ring while preserving components of the healthy vaginal microbiome including lactobacillus so the product can be shipped to users. Research has been done showing that intravaginal rings can improve lactobacillus species concentrations in the vaginal tract. These beneficial lactic acid-producing bacteria can provide protection from bacterial vaginosis or from STIs, such as HPV.
