Project Overview

Jolene Enge, the Engineering Project Coordinator at Johnson Health Tech (JHT), requires an adaptor for the Krankcycle, JHT’s upper body hand cycle. Headquartered in Cottage Grove, WI, JHT is one of the world’s leading companies in exercise equipment manufacturing and sales. They currently have no pieces of fitness equipment on the market for users with disabilities, and are trying to expand their equipment user population. JHT is specifically interested in an adaptor for their Krankcycle that will allow people with disabilities, such as stroke victims and individuals with arthritis, to take full advantage of their fitness equipment. This semester’s work is to develop an adjustable adaptor that can be easily attached to the Krankcycle, by a user with low gross motor skills, for normal use.
