Project Overview

The purpose of this project is to improve the assembly and alignment process of the Raman spectroscopy accessory without compromising the integrity of the machine. Currently, the alignment process can take anywhere between 45 minutes and 2 hours for a technician to complete. The process requires a lot of guessing and checking in order to assemble. Our goal is to reduce the variability and time of this process. Specifically, to reduce the amount of time it takes to align the lasers to the correct configuration. We will be working mostly with the fine alignment process of the lasers as it takes the most most time to complete.
