The purpose of this device will be to help in the implementation of biofeedback techniques for the treatment of migraines.

Project Overview

Migraines are a rampant problem in America, with an estimated 12% of adults being affected. Most solutions, the majority of which are pharmaceutical, are expensive and can have debilitating side effects that often inhibit daily functions. Few non-pharmaceutical options exist, but biofeedback is one of them. In the clinical setting, biofeedback is extremely expensive and time consuming, so the team is working to create a device that is portable and affordable for at-home use. Creating a personal biofeedback device will alleviate the burden of chronic migraines by preemptively preventing migraines. The function of this device is to provide viable and presentable EMG and temperature data during biofeedback sessions to inform the user of their autonomic bodily functions. The information will help train the user to control these functions to mitigate migraines.
