A compression sleeve that can be donned and doffed easily must be developed to ensure the health of people who require compression.

Project Overview

Compression socks are used in many different medical situations for people of all ages. The majority of these cases, however, are in elderly patients because compression socks are a common prescription for those with edema or other blood flow problems to their lower extremities. The problem that arises with current designs of compression socks is that they are difficult to put on, especially for those with limited strength. Many times, this leads to people avoiding the struggle altogether, and not putting the socks on. The client, Kay Lera, would like the team to design a compression sleeve with a special feature to solve this issue. The design must ease the process of putting on compression socks or sleeves while meeting the patient’s need for consistent compression throughout the lower leg.
