Project Overview
Implant surgeries are complex procedures and to ensure that implants are inserted in the correct location surgical navigation like Stealth and O-Arm are used. Currently there are no navigation assistant attachments for pins and osteotomes to guide in surgery and implant placement. The scope of our project is to develop a surgical navigation attachment for these tools that is capable of withstanding any movement made when using the tools and can displayed by the surgical navigation systems used by surgeons. This attachment could help ease the stress for surgical personnel while also allowing for a more efficient implant placement.
