Develop a template to hold a brachytherapy needle in place for multiple treatments over 1-2 days.

Project Overview

The project requires the development of a “lightweight” and “compact” template to effectively hold a brachytherapy needle in place for multiple treatments over 1-2 days. Currently, putty is used to hold the needle in place; however, this does not completely secure the needle. If the needle moves during treatment, the patient will need to repeat the radiation plan, which is both inefficient and uncomfortable. Ideally, the needle remains still in static equilibrium during the treatment to prevent radiation leakage throughout the body.
