Login for More InformationA specialized brace to prevent lateral dislocation of the toes in a Greyhound dog.
Project Overview
A 9-year-old Greyhound dog named Bismarck experienced an amputation of his fifth toe on his front left paw following an injury, leaving nothing to hold his remaining toes in place laterally. A custom toe brace should be fabricated in order to prevent Bismarck from experiencing continued lateral dislocation of his third and fourth toes. The brace should be wearable for up to eight hours at a time, and be breathable to prevent accumulation of moisture on the paws. The toes should be kept separate to avoid rubbing of the skin and pressure sores. The brace will ideally allow Bismarck to comfortably return to normal activities with his owners, such as going on walks and car rides,.
