Biometric sensing device for remote monitoring of vitals in swine

This project has been secured to protect intellectual property.

Login for More Information

Design, develop, and prototype a device with sensors for monitoring the heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and activity level of swine within one semester.

Project Overview

The biometric sensing device will monitor the heart rate, respiratory rate, and activity level of swine post-operation. Measurement data will be transferred to a remote monitoring device for consistent tracking and analysis throughout the day. Remote access to these determinants of health will cut down on caretaker labor, reduce stress on the animals compared to manual monitoring, and improve response time to the onset of complications or illness.
