Design a remote Bluetooth stethoscope that can be 3-D printed at a low cost to be disposable and be able to be manufactured in low-resource areas.

Project Overview

Auscultation is the first examination technique to go when one uses telehealth. This loss hurts rural low‑income and immunocompromised patients the most. Remote listening is one solution – a 2021 randomized trial showed that a cheap Bluetooth auscultation device can match the skill of a bedside listener.. The current electronic stethoscopes cost between $150 and $500 and none is cheap enough to toss away when infection rules require auscultation to be discarded. There is value in a device that can do both remote and in‑person auscultation can be made in low‑resource settings.
