External scaffolding for rapid use of AV fistulas in dialysis patients
Project Overview
Patients who need to undergo hemodialysis often require the placement of an arterio-venous (AV) fistula surgical connection between an artery and a vein. This project involves the creation of an external scaffolding to enhance the stability and prevent the collapse of the vein during hemodialysis. In the future, we hope to pursue testing in a pig model.
