Inguinal Hernia Model
Project Overview
Dr. Jon Gould has requested a life-like anatomical simulation of inguinal hernia anatomy that can be used to train medical students and residents in anatomy, for laparoscopic surgical simulation, and for open hernia surgery simulation. Hernia models that Dr. Gould has used in the past did not have enough anatomical landmarks that are used to find specific nerves. The team’s model has been made from silicone and other materials that best imitate the appearance and feel of the body. Our model maintains accurate anatomy and includes many important anatomical landmarks for surgery.
