Mouse Sleep Deprivation Device
Project Overview
There are current sleep deprivation devices for mice on the market today. Our task is to modify an existing product for our researcher's needs. Their needs include: a method to monitor the mice for behavior leading to sleep, a method to keep the mice awake without hurting them, and includes a program to operate multiple cages at once. The product must also be able to interrupt sleep from 6 hours to 2 weeks and provide the mice with basic housing. A stretch goal for the product is to have a cache memory so that the cages do not need to be connected to a computer in order to operate.
