Solve technical issues relating to the delivery of high density microspheres

Project Overview

The team's objective this semester is to ensure ≥ 99.5% of the TheraSphere Y-90 microspheres are transferred from the master V-vial to a tumbler. Currently, there is no step to transfer these microspheres. It is critical that there is ≥ 99.5% delivery to the tumbler as incorrect concentrations of spheres in the tumbler results in inaccurate dose delivery to patients. As these doses are specific to each patient, completely accurate dosage is of utmost importance. Low dose results in non-complete tumor necrosis, and too high of a dose leads to necrosis of healthy tissue.
