Current models of the intraventricular drainage system, a device put into place to allow for the draining of cerebrospinal fluid in patients with increased intracranial pressure, require frequent adjustment and do not allow for the patient to change position without nurse assistance. A device is needed that eliminates the need for these frequent adjustments by a precise regulation of cerebrospinal fluid flux controlled solely by intracranial pressure.
