Johnson Health Tech: Height adjustable magnetic resistance SkiErg

Login for More InformationThe goal of this project is to design and fabricate a functioning, accessible, and height-adjustable SkiErg machine.
Project Overview
Nordic SkiErgs offer a unique form of exercise, utilizing a flywheel pulley system for a user to pull their arms up and down, simulating the motion of cross country skiing. Unfortunately, many of these machines are not wheelchair accessible, not having the ability to adjust its height for access from a sitting position or not having enough room for a wheelchair to fit between it. Many also use a friction or air resistance system, which can be loud and require regular maintenance and replacements. This project aims to design and fabricate a SkiErg that is free standing, height adjustable, and wheelchair accessible that uses magnetic resistance and allows for independent arm movement.
