Low-interference wheelchair footrest
Creation of a prototype for a wheelchair footrest which allows the operator to use their feet to interact with the world.
Project Overview
This program aims to create a detachable footrest for a wheelchair that allows the operator to freely use their feet whenever they may desire. The footrest must be transferable between multiple wheelchairs of the same brand, be able to hold the full weight of the operator's legs, and be light and compact for easy storage and transportation. This aims to solve the problem of most wheelchair footrests currently on the market which are heavy, difficult to attach and detach, and frequently block usage of the operator's feet.
